With a pristine oceanfront setting, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai is a stylish urban resort overlooking the clear blue waters of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai's glittering skyline, which is dominated by Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. About the job
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Content Creator & Social Media Intern will support the creation, curation and publishing of content across the social media channels of the hotel's restaurants and bars, learning the craft of luxury visual storytelling from within an award-winning Marketing & Communications team. We are looking for someone with a natural eye: the kind of person who walks through the hotel and instinctively notices a beautiful moment, and is eager to learn how to transform it into polished, on-brand content.
As a Content Creator & Social Media Intern you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist in capturing daily photo and video content across the hotel, restaurants, spa, beach and events, working to creative direction and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's brand guidelines.
- Edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels, Stories and TikTok to a publish-ready standard, with care given to pacing, sound, captions, colour and platform formatting.
- Support the curation and planning of Instagram feeds across the hotel's food and beverage outlets, learning how sequencing, rhythm and visual balance shape the way each channel tells its story.
- Contribute to moodboards, shoot concepts and campaign decks, and assist in building presentations in Canva.
- Support the scheduling and publishing of content across the outlet social media accounts, following each outlet's established voice and caption guidelines.
- Assist in monitoring comments, messages and tags, drafting on-brand responses and escalating guest matters to the appropriate teams.
- Update and maintain the content library and databases of photography and video assets.
- Assist with the planning and execution of content shoots and campaign productions, including coordination with talent, chefs and hotel departments.
- Support seasonal campaign launches and activations in accordance with the marketing plan.
- Monitor social media, digital and luxury trends and propose creative ideas suited to each outlet's personality and the brand's luxury positioning.
- Support influencer and creator visits on property, helping ensure guests are graciously hosted.
- Co-ordinate with operations teams to schedule content capture with sensitivity to service, guests and events.
- Respond to requests from other departments in a professional and timely manner.
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures (SOPs, etc.).
- Be energetic, enthusiastic, resourceful, helpful and passionate to exceed expectations.
- Immaculately groomed and articulate with a highly professional appearance.
- Demonstrate business ethics and personal integrity.
- Approach work with a sense of urgency and purpose.
- Allocate time and resources effectively when faced with competing demands.
As a Content Creator & Social Media Intern we expect from you:
- Bachelor's degree, current enrolment or education certification in Marketing, Communications, Media, Photography, Film or a related field.
- A portfolio of work ready to share, in any form: personal social media channels, university projects, freelance or self-initiated content demonstrating a genuine eye and a feel for storytelling.
- Strong smartphone photography and videography skills, with instincts for composition, lighting and colour and an interest in developing them within a luxury aesthetic.
- Working knowledge of editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut or equivalent; familiarity with Photoshop, Lightroom and Canva is an advantage.
- Native-level fluency across Meta platforms and TikTok, with a keen awareness of current trends across social, digital and luxury culture.
- A sincere interest in culture, art, design, photography and storytelling, and a genuine passion for hospitality, luxury, travel, food and lifestyle.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- A solution-oriented, collaborative, proactive individual with strong communication skills.
- A flexible and resilient approach with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and demanding environment, including availability for early morning, evening or weekend shoots when required.
- Previous internship, freelance or content creation experience for a brand, venue or business is an advantage.
