About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern within the F&B Department in Luzern, the Commis de Rang is responsible for all tasks related to the service offer at our fine dining restaurant Colonnade. The Commis de Rang reports to the Restaurant Manager. 

 As Commis de Rang, you will be responsible for the following duties:   

• Professional advice and customer care for our guests 
• Professional serving of food and drinks 
• Complying with our high quality standards 
• Preparing the required mise en place, Covering and cleaning work in the restaurant area
• Supporting your superiors in their daily tasks 
• Registering all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting 
• Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events
• Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

As Commis de Rang, we expect from you:

• A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry
• First computer skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous  
• Communicative skills - guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback
• Open-mindedness and teamwork skills 
• Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position will include weekend and holiday shifts
• Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
