The Catering & Event Services Manager under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Event and Catering Services, and within the limits of hotel policies and procedures, effectively execute sales activities to maximize weddings, social events and meeting business opportunities in the defined market.
The Role of the Catering & Event Services Manager
Ensures that appropriate efforts are expanded on the solicitation and development of section (weddings and social events) in the assigned portfolios.
To actively solicit new potential accounts within section assigned.
To be fully aware of the potential and buying decisions, competitive information on rates and volume to allow for specific strategic planning related to such accounts.
To ensure MOKUL is a preferred hotel for weddings and social events in Kuala Lumpur.
To actively conduct site inspection for potential clients.
To actively keep contact and rapport with wedding planners and decorators.
To achieve minimum:
10 sales calls per week
20 telemarketing calls per week
To attend daily Banquet Event Order Reading.
To attend weekly Group Resume Meeting.
To attend monthly F&B Meeting.
To conducts pre and post event meetings with supporting departments and clients.
To obtain competitor’s and hotel reading on a weekly basis and to provide information during F&B Meeting.
Meets with function organizers in-house to provide assistance and maintain a good client relationship and to solicit future business.
To assist with incoming telephone calls within the department.
Competent with providing clients with hassle-free experience.
To chair daily Banquet Event Order Reading when required.
To attend any Catering & Event Services briefing/ meeting.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.
Minimum 2 years working experience, preferably in Administration or Sales in the hospitality industry or related field.
Fluent in English both written and verbal, fluency in other languages is an added advantage.
Excellent selling skills.
Strong communication skills and meticulous.
Presentable, outgoing and mature personality.
Must have working rights in Malaysia.
