About the job


Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Housekeeping Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible to support the Director of Housekeeping in managing the housekeeping department which comprises of guest rooms, public areas and laundry. Your support is required in supervising and inspecting the internal and external parameters to ensure that high standard of cleanliness is maintained as set by the Management. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper reports to the Director of Housekeeping.

As an Assistant Executive Housekeeper – you will be responsible for the following duties: 


•    Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising daily housekeeping operations
•    Ensure cleanliness standards are met in guest rooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas
•    Inspect rooms and facilities to ensure quality, hygiene, and safety standards
•    Handle guest complaints and special requests related to housekeeping
•    Monitor inventory of linen, uniforms, cleaning supplies, and equipment
•    Assist with purchasing, stock control, and cost management
•    Supervise housekeeping supervisors, room attendants, and cleaners
•    Assist with staff scheduling, duty rosters, and attendance control
•    Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety standards
•    Follow-up on daily requirement, work orders and problems for the day
•    Motivate staff and help maintain high morale and productivity
•    Prepare daily reports (room status, occupancy, staff productivity)
•    Assist in budgeting and forecasting departmental expenses
•    Maintain records for lost & found, maintenance issues, and housekeeping logs
•    Support sustainability and eco-friendly housekeeping practices
•    Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs
•    Ensure adherence to hygiene, infection control, and workplace safety standards
•    Follow up on maintenance work orders and room readiness
•    Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance, and Laundry departments

As An Assistant Executive Housekeeper, we expect from you: 


•    Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in a similar capacity or equivalent, preferably in the service industry
•    Has previous supervisory experiences and Assistant Managerial role within the Housekeeping Department of a 5 star hotel
