About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, within the F&B Department in Istanbul, the Assistant Outlet Manager is responsible for contribute to the operational and financial aspects of the restaurant operation. To support the Outlet Manager in overseeing the overall organization, insuring the implementation and consistency of the company standards.
As "Assistant Outlet Manager", you will be responsible for the following duties:
- To ensure that the Outlet team have good knowledge of food and beverage and take responsibility for the delivery of this knowledge to the guest
- To ensure that tables are arranged and set up accordingly
- To ensure that service stations are correctly arranged and set-up
- To ensure that all colleagues are familiar with correct billing procedures
- To maintain all equipment in good condition and ensure staff are trained to handle all of it.
- To organize and attend daily line-up meetings for colleagues, manage the meetings in the absence of Outlet Manager
- To ensure small groups of VIP guests are catered for according to MO standards.
- To ensure correct quality and presentation of all dishes and drinks is being communicated to staff.
- To ensure that the outlet operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining standards in terms of food, service, health & safety and reputation
- To communicate outlet performance to Outlet Manager and senior management.

As "Assistant Outlet Manager", we expect from you:
- To ensure food and beverages are presented to guests according to MO standards
- To ensure guests’ satisfaction is met by every team member
- To ensure colleagues know how to handle special requests and VIPs
- To deal with guest complaints according to MO standards and communicate to the Outlet Manager where appropriate
- To ensure guests’ preferences are remembered by staff and delivered on.
- To ensure all relevant colleagues are trained to make reservations.
- To ensure greeting, seating and taking orders by staff are all done to MO standards.
- To create and execute plans for department sales, profit and staff development.
- To ensure all colleagues seek to reduce loss and maximize profitability wherever possible
- To be aware of the outlet up-selling strategy and communicate with all relevant colleagues.
- To develop strategies to ensure colleagues are correctly managed and problems can be remedied.
- To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Department Head.
