Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is an exclusive 5-star hotel located on Barcelona's Paseo de Gracia, also home to several historic modernist works and architectural gems by Gaudi.

Mandarin Oriental Barcelona Hotel has 120 rooms, 28 of which are suites. All of our exquisite rooms and suites are uniquely decorated by Patricia Urquiola.

In addition to accommodation, the hotel has rooms that we rent for all kinds of events, such as weddings, meetings, business meetings...

Regarding the hotel's gastronomy, we have a 2 Michelin star restaurant, a wonderful cocktail bar, indoor garden Mimosa and the pool terrace where you can enjoy light dinners or spectacular views.

The hotel Spa consists of 8 treatment rooms, both facial and body, indoor pool and gym.

We are currently looking for new talent to join the Housekeeping department as Assistant Executive Housekeeper .

 

What will be the main functions you will perform in your position?

 

1. Assist General Management:

• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in motivating, training, supervising, evaluating and disciplining all Housekeeping and Laundry employees.
• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in planning daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly assignments and projects for all Room Attendants, Guest Floor Attendants, Public Area, Uniform / Laundry Attendants and Supervisors.
• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and recommend and implement procedural changes.
• Assist the Executive Housekeeper in performing administrative duties such as, but not limited to, departmental scheduling, payroll, purchase requests and monthly consumption reports.
• Maintain an ongoing Safe & Sound program.
• Perform a variety of other duties as assigned.

1. Guestrooms and Public Areas:Perform daily inspection of all public areas, guestrooms, exterior of building and back house areas, to ensure that the highest standards are met.Monitor progress, ensure completion of deep cleaning program and assign tasks to housekeeping colleagues.
2. Guests’ Requests Handling:

• Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested.  Conduct daily communication meetings.
• Perform line level functions in emergency situations

• Minimum 2 years of Housekeeping managerial experience in a luxury hotel.
• Must possess a good written and verbal command of the Spanish and English language.
• Computer literate (familiar with Microsoft Office, e.g. Word and Excel).
• Excellent overall communication skills
• Able to multi-task
• The ability to work well in a team environment
