About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino within the People & Culture Department in Pylos, Messenia, Greece, the Assistant Director of People & Culture assists in planning, directing, and coordinating all functions of the People & Culture Management program, including employee and labour relations, employee onboarding and orientation, discipline and performance management, staff development, and workforce communications. The Assistant Director of People & Culture reports to the Director of People & Culture

As Assistant Director of People & Culture, you will be responsible for the following duties: 

  • Coordinate all actions and follow-ups with appropriate Department Heads and Executive Committee members, as well as oversee performance of the colleagues when needed. 
  • Oversee the P&C Executives & the P&C Administrative Assistants in connection with necessary new hire paperwork for the candidate to initiate work and is generally involved in the in the development of middle management colleagues through succession planning and coaching.
  • Ensure all termination paperwork is properly completed (i.e., exit interview, return of all hotel issued property, locker inventory, etc).
  • Assist the Director of People & Culture with the preparation of P&C annual budget and with all necessary reports to Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
  • Support the P&C Director and the L&D Manager in all employee recognition programs, holiday parties & celebrations, and in other Learning & Development functions.
  • Maintain high levels of interaction with all colleagues. Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and procedures, to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions.

As Assistant Director of People & Culture, we expect from you: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources management in hospitality is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality will be considered as a plus. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, HRM, or related.
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resource matters.
  • Strong overall computer literacy, not limited to MS Office.
  • Fluency in English & Greek.
