Scope of Position

The Assistant Director of Finance Manager will assist the Director of Finance in overseeing the Finance and Accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of department. This position will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable and payable activities to ensure accurate recording of information according to generally accepted accounting principles and Mandarin Oriental established guidelines.

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Supports Company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars, Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T as part of ensuring Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
  • Represents the Director of Finance in his/her absence
  • Directly oversees the Finance and Accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of department.
  • Directs & Supervises Finance and Accounting department team members.
  • Oversees accounts receivable and payable activities to ensure accurate recording of information according to generally accepted accounting principles and Mandarin Oriental established guidelines
  • Coordinates month end closing, review general ledger, and approve all required journal entries.
  • Coordinate monthly P&L Meeting, performs analytical reviews of Financial Statements and explains any variances from Budget.
  • Coordinate monthly credit meetings
  • To monitor compliance of MOHG Control Standards in Finance & Accounting Department
  • To maintain proper internal control as to ensure compliance with MOHG Policies & Procedures
  • To communicate effectively with Executive Committee, Department Head, and Managers and to support effective business decision making, include provide necessary information for analysis purpose and respond to queries from operation department.
  • Assist in Financial Reporting to Corporate Headquarters
  • Coordinates annual internal/external audit processes.
  • Monitors departmental internal controls and recommend changes in operating procedures as necessary
  • Preparation of tax returns & governmental reports and ensures any payment of monies required on a timely basis
  • Reconciliation of: bank accounts, balance sheets and asset accounting operations.
  • Review and verify credit limit report, include creation, amendment and changes of credit limit, and daily credit card collection report.
  • Review accounts receivable adjustments, include refund, transfers and miscellaneous entries
  • Approval of invoices, purchase requisitions check requests, and expense during the absence of the Director of Finance
  • Ensures proper, timely payment of fees for licenses, permits, regulatory contracts and insurance policies
  • Directs cash management activities to ensure the proper use and timely availability of funds
  • Evaluates individual employee performance, determines areas in need of improvement or requirements for advancement, establishes goals, objectives and training needs required to achieve same
  • Provides information, assistance, training, and feedback to other staff members.
  • Monitor work scheduling to optimize productivity and to ensure sufficient support per operational needs
  • Performs special projects to meet Corporate needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist in Residences Accounting
  • Assist Director of Finance in the budgeting & forecasting processes
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance.

 Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent. Preferably in Accounting & Finance
  • Minimum two years experience in a similar position
  • Prolific in all Windows Based Software Application.
  • Strong Level of Proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spreadsheets and complex technical information
  • Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Effective management, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills with a working knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Able to work concentrated and effective under pressure.
  • Possess a friendly, energized and outgoing personality.
  • Proficient in written and spoken Indonesia and English.
