About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok within the Engineering Department, the Assistant Director of Engineer and Projects will take full responsibility for assisting the Director of Engineer and Projects on all aspects of the Engineering operations. The reports are directly to the Area Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
To be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant machinery and control list of spare parts/materials for efficient stores/ inventory control.
To assist identify and arrange for all works necessary to maintain the high standard of mechanical and electrical or civil system to be completed in good order at all times.
To assist direct engineering policies and procedures in accordance with the standard laid down.
To directly supervise Senior Engineers, Duty Engineers, to read the daily engineering logbook and to take the necessary action.
To assist Director of Engineering and Projects in the implementation of a fully comprehensive maintenance programme.
To monitor and control the work request/order distribution and arrangement to ensure that the routine and special work requests/orders are completed in time and arranged properly.
To spot check to ensure that the work as detailed in the maintenance order has been executed in the most practical, skilful and economical manner.
To report to Director of Engineering immediately in any unusual events occurred, whether it is in respect of the engineering operation - physical plant or personnel.
To analyse and prepare on a monthly basis the heat, light and power consumption figures for submission to Director of Engineering and make recommendations in respect of changes in plant or system that may result in conserving energy.

As Assistant Director of Engineer and Projects, we expect you to have:
Fluency in English and Thai.
5-8 years of solid luxury hotel experience.
To work closely with the Director of Engineer and Projects in ensuring a safe and sound environment for colleagues and guests alike.
To be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the hotel building, physical plant and engineering facilities for efficient and safe operation.
Oversee the strategic direction of general projects related to the enhancement of the hotel. The project management covers the areas of planning, administration, implementation and evaluation of financial results of the projects.
Manage all CAPEX projects in accordance with the group policies and procedures.
Flexible working hours to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
Excellent communication skills in all aspects: verbal, written and non-verbal
