Scope of position:  

The role of a messenger/Driver plays a vital role in maintaining efficient communication within an organization. From delivering important documents to running errands, a messenger acts as a crucial link between different departments. 




  1. General:
  • It is part of your role to understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, with all rules, regulations, and other requirements.
  • It is part of your role and your responsibility to fully support all learning and development activities.
  • You shall take all reasonable steps to safeguard stored information, and not divulge or otherwise transfer any personal data concerning the guests, customers or colleagues, or any confidential information concerning the hotel unless with the appropriate authority.
  • Use of the hotel’s network, computers or internet access which is in the hotel’s view unreasonable or inappropriate, for example gambling, chatroom, or pornographic material, is a serious breach of hotel policy and grounds for summary dismissal.
  • Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
  • Ensure compliance with the MOHG Social Media Policy, i.e. to be fully responsible for the content you publish on any social media platform, including your personal site.
  • Mandarin Oriental, Muscat has zero tolerance on all forms of harassment or discrimination, i.e. it is strictly forbidden to discriminate on the basis of gender, disability, including physical or medical condition, race, colour, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, sexual orientation, marital status, or for any other reason.
  • Always Act as a hotel ambassador.
  • To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities.
  1. Departmental:
  • To reach the destination safely.
  • To perform administrative support/messenger duties if necessary.
  • To work evening and weekend shifts if necessary.
  • To inspect and maintain the company vehicle.
  • To be knowledgeable about payment collections (taxes/maintenance) related to the vehicle.
  • To be responsible for loading and unloading materials.
  • To carry out other tasks as assigned from time to time.
  • To strictly adhere to Traffic Rules and Regulations and the maximum speed limit set by the Department of Road Transport.
  • To keep assigned vehicles clean and in good condition at all times, performing necessary maintenance such as washing and cleaning appropriately and planning accordingly.
  • To be responsible for routine checks of the vehicles, including but not limited to oil, brake function, water, lights, tire condition, etc.
  • To always turn off the engine and electricity of the assigned vehicles during waiting times inside or outside any facility to save fuel consumption.
  • To make an effort to show attention to the assigned supervisor during the duty and always remain within their sight.
  • To refrain from sleeping inside the vehicle.
  • To always drive safely and comfortably, avoiding defensive driving to prevent any accidents.
  • To avoid careless driving.
  • To monitor and renew the driver’s license without causing any inconvenience to the supervisor or hotel.
  • To refrain from using harmful substances (alcohol, cigarettes, etc.) during duty or in a way that affects the duty.
  • To strictly comply with the rules and regulations, policies, directives, and instructions of Mandarin Oriental Muscat.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the General Manager.
