We have an exciting opportunity to join the Bar team as a Barback at our Japanese Izakaya -  The Aubrey.

The Aubrey is a Japanese Izakaya & Bar concept with 132 covers and a private dining room serving brunch, dinner and late night drinks. Our menu features classic dishes from Japanese cuisine, in interpretations that adapt and change with the seasons.

The restaurant has been created as a partnership between Maximal Concepts and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. Maximal Concepts is a Hong Kong-based company that has since expanded to locations including Singapore, Las Vegas and Vancouver. 

We need barbacks to create the ultimate experience when our guests dine and drink with us.

As a barback, you’ll learn from some of the best in the industry; people who have walked these corridors for a great many years. We’re looking for someone who’ll be able to embody five-star service and our oriental origins: graceful movements, a humble calm, a true focus on the guest.

But humility can live side-by-side with ambition: we encourage anyone who serves our guests to look to their next opportunity. Currently, many of our F&B Heads of Department have been promoted from within. And because our elegant style of service is so translatable to other roles and regions, there are plenty of opportunities to spend time in our thirty-two other locations, too.

As a barback you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To ensure the appropriate presentation and cleanliness of the bar.
  • To responsible the set-up and operation of a bar station/section.
  • To handle guest comments and complaints in the appropriate manner
  • To perform all cashier-related duties according to hotel policies whilst ensuring that guests receive bills in a prompt and accurate manner
