Our Hotel

Set at the heart of the U.S. capital between Maine and Maryland Avenues and 12th and 14th Streets, SW, Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC has redefined luxury in the city. Just streets away from the nation’s most revered monuments and the Smithsonian Institution, the hotel is also within easy reach of Capitol Hill and District Wharf.

Overview of Position

Respond and provide a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group policies.

Concierge will report directly to the Guest Experience Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Qualified candidates will possess a passion for flawless service and the highest level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  •  Ensure personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' needs.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Managers. 
  • Has strong understanding of companies Cash Handling Policy and receiving kickbacks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills.
  •  Must have a flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  •  Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  •  Hotel experience preferred.
  •  Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
